Wet Well & Interceptor Maintenance

Specialist Wet Well & Interceptor Cleaning for Critical Infrastructure

Comprehensive Wet Well & Lift Station Maintenance

Civil Connect provides the technical expertise andWe provide heavy-duty cleaning and desilting for pump stations and wet wells of all sizes. Our service focuses on removing the accumulated waste that causes pump failure and system blockages, ensuring the station operates at its designed flow capacity.

Technical Scope of Work

What the Service Includes

Total De-sludging: Vacuuming out heavy silt, grit, and compacted solids from the bottom of the well.

“Rag” & Floating Debris Removal: Clearing non-biodegradable materials and fatbergs that tangle in pump impellers.

Wall & Bench Scouring: High-pressure water jetting to remove bacterial slime and grease build-up from the chamber walls and benching.

Pipework Flushing: Cleaning the inlet and outlet pipes to ensure no “upstream” debris immediately refills the well.

Protecting the Mechanical Assets

Maintenance is about more than just a clean tank; it’s about protecting the pumps.

Submersible Pump Cleaning: Cleaning the “wet end” and cooling jackets of the pumps.

Float & Sensor Maintenance: Cleaning grease off ultrasonic sensors and float switches to prevent false readings or pump “run-dry” scenarios.

Guide Rail & Chain Inspection: Clearing debris from the lifting chains and guide rails to ensure pumps can be pulled for repair if needed.

We understand that for Tier 1 contractors and Authorities, the “paperwork” is as important as the pipework.

Our delivery process is built on:

  • Full RAMS & HSEQ Compliance: Detailed, site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements provided for every project.

  • Asset Condition Reporting: Post-clean CCTV surveys and structural reports to provide a clear digital audit trail of the asset’s health.

  • Digital Documentation: Instant digital waste transfer notes and completion certs to keep your project records up to date in real-time.

ATEX-Rated Equipment & Safety

When working in interceptors or foul wells where explosive gases may be present, Civil Connect utilizes ATEX-rated equipment to eliminate ignition sources.

  • Explosion-Proof Lighting: Zone 0 and Zone 1 rated LED lighting for internal inspections.

  • Non-Sparking Tools: Use of specialized bronze/beryllium tools for mechanical work within the chamber.

  • Anti-Static Suction Hoses: Preventing static buildup during the high-velocity transfer of hydrocarbons.

Collaborative Partnership

Whether you are managing a major framework for a Water Authority or a local residential development, Civil Connect provides the reliability and safety you expect from a Tier 1 partner.

  • Scheduled Framework Maintenance

  • Pre-Adoption Cleans & Surveys

Specialist Interceptor Maintenance.

For sites with petrol, oil, or grease interceptors, we provide full-cycle waste recovery.

  • Waste Extraction: Pumping out the separated oil/water layers and the heavy silt trap.

  • Coalescing Filter Servicing: Removing, cleaning, or replacing the filters that allow oil to separate from water.

  • Internal Component Wash-down: Ensuring the baffle plates and shut-off valves are clear of obstructions.

Specialized Plant & Machinery

We use high-specification machinery to ensure the job is done quickly and safely:

  • Jet-Vac Tankers: High-airflow vacuum units capable of pulling waste from deep-lift wet wells.

  • High-Pressure Jetting Units: For breaking up “fatbergs” and scouring concrete surfaces.

  • Gas Monitoring & Safety Gear: Using multi-gas detectors and tripod recovery systems for safe entry into the “Hazardous Zone” of the well.

Post-Maintenance Delivery

Once the maintenance is complete, we provide the technical data required by the client:

  • Waste Transfer Notes: Legal documentation showing where the waste was disposed of.

  • Visual Verification: Photo or CCTV evidence that the well is clear of silt and the pumps are free of obstructions.

  • Condition Reporting: A summary of any observed structural cracks or pump wear that may require future attention.
