Mechanical Patch Repair (Quick-Lock)

Need a CCTV Investigation or a Condition Report?

Rapid, Structural, and Trenchless Pipeline Rehabilitation

When critical infrastructure suffers from localized damage—be it a structural crack, a leaking joint, or an aggressive root intrusion—traditional excavation is rarely the most efficient answer. Civil Connect provides a smarter alternative: Quick-Lock Mechanical Patch Repair.

As leaders in trenchless technology, we utilize the Quick-Lock system to deliver a permanent, high-performance fix that requires zero chemicals, zero digging, and zero cure time.

effective asset management and flood prevention. Our specialist engineers analyse the findings to deliver tailored, actionable reports, enabling you to accurately diagnose issues and make informed decisions for maintenance and repair.

The Civil Connect Advantage: Why Quick-Lock?

While CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) lining is excellent for long stretches, the Quick-Lock system is the gold standard for point repairs. It is a purely mechanical solution consisting of a heavy-duty 316L stainless steel sleeve and a seamless EPDM rubber gasket.

  • Immediate Reinstatement: Unlike resin-based repairs, there is no curing process. The moment the sleeve is locked, the pipe is ready for full-capacity flow.

  • Structural Restoration: The 316L stainless steel provides its own structural integrity, reinforcing the host pipe against external pressure and preventing future collapses.

  • Environmentally Inert: With no chemicals or epoxies involved, it is the safest choice for environmentally sensitive areas and potable water systems.

  • Decades of Durability: Designed for a 50-year service life, the materials are resistant to high-pressure jetting and corrosive effluents.

Applications & Problem Solving

Our specialized teams deploy Quick-Lock to solve a variety of subsurface challenges:

  • Infiltration Control: Instantly stop groundwater from entering the system through cracks or faulty joints.

  • Root Intrusion: Create a mechanical barrier that roots simply cannot penetrate.

  • Offset Joint Stabilization: Using the “Flex” variant, we can bridge and seal joints that have shifted over time.

  • Liner End Sealing: We use Quick-Lock to secure the ends of UV-CIPP liners, preventing “tracking” between the new liner and the old pipe wall.

  • Abandoned Lateral Sealing: A permanent, mechanical way to decommission old connections without excavation.

Our Process: Precision from the Ground Down

At Civil Connect, we pair Tier 1 technical discipline with the agility of a specialist contractor.

  1. CCTV Inspection: We utilize high-definition robotic cameras to pinpoint the damage and assess the pipe’s internal condition.

  2. Preparation: The line is cleaned using high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) to ensure a smooth contact surface for the EPDM gasket.

  3. Mechanical Installation: The sleeve is positioned via a crawler-mounted packer. Once in place, the packer is inflated, engaging a patented one-way ratchet mechanism that “locks” the sleeve under permanent tension against the pipe wall.

  4. Verification: A post-repair CCTV survey is conducted to document the seal and provide you with a digital record of the completed work.

Technical Specifications
