Chairperson's Vision 2026

A View from the Chair: A Vision for Agile and Specialist Leadership in Development Intelligence

In an era of profound change, the success of our nation’s most critical development projects hinges on the quality of intelligence that informs them. While large-scale construction often takes the spotlight, it is the precision of the initial data and the clarity of the insights that truly pave the way for success.

At Civil Connect PLC, we have carved out our essential role in this ecosystem: providing focused, agile, and unassailable intelligence that empowers our partners to build with confidence. Looking to the future, our vision is clear—to be the UK’s most trusted specialist partner in de-risking development through superior data and expert analysis. The challenges before us—decarbonisation, technological disruption, and the delivery of complex infrastructure—are challenges of information.

They demand a level of foresight that larger, less nimble firms often struggle to provide. Our size is our strength. It allows us to be responsive, to foster deep client relationships, and to adopt innovative technologies with an agility that sets us apart.

Our strategy is one of focused evolution, ensuring that analytical rigour, integrity, and sustainable thinking remain at the heart of everything we do. For 2026 and beyond, we are steadfast in three core commitments. These are the promises we make to our clients, our people, and the industry we serve.

Our Commitments for 2026

1. Harnessing Digital Tools for Superior Insight

Our commitment is to master and integrate the industry’s most effective digital tools, creating a seamless flow of information—from site investigation to actionable insights. For us, technology is not an end in itself but a means to deliver unmatched value and efficiency for our clients.

Our Priorities:

  • 1.1: By 2026, we will fully integrate a suite of advanced digital tools to create a unified ‘digital twin’ of site conditions for all core projects, giving our partners predictive insights into ground risks, environmental constraints, and project viability.

  • 1.2: Establishing a dedicated internal R&D initiative, we will pilot emerging AI and machine learning applications to improve the accuracy and speed of our geotechnical and environmental assessments.

  • 1.3: We will actively contribute to industry forums and advocate for open data standards, sharing our expertise to help foster a more transparent and efficient digital ecosystem across the development lifecycle.

2. Cultivating Our Specialist Expertise

At Civil Connect PLC, our people are our greatest asset. With decades of combined expertise, we are dedicated to cultivating the brightest minds in geospatial and environmental science to ensure we deliver exceptional solutions for every client.

Our Priorities:

  • 2.1: Launching our internal Technical Academy in 2026, we will provide advanced, practical training in computational geotechnics and sustainable design to keep our team at the forefront of the industry.

  • 2.2: Establishing a strategic partnership with a leading regional university, we will develop a direct talent pipeline and collaborate on research that enhances our capabilities in specialist sectors.

  • 2.3: A new formal mentorship programme will pair senior technical experts with our emerging talent, ensuring the methodical transfer of analytical experience and corporate wisdom.

3. Leading with Integrity and a Focus on Sustainability

Delivering exceptional analysis is only part of our mission; we also aim to create tangible social and environmental value. Our approach to ESG isn’t a box-ticking exercise—it’s embedded in every decision we make.

Our Priorities:

  • 3.1: We will publish a clear roadmap to achieve Net Zero across our operations by 2026, while continuing to advise clients on the carbon impact of ground engineering decisions.

  • 3.2: Our dedication to safety remains uncompromising. We will invest in behavioural safety programmes and adopt remote-sensing technologies to ensure the wellbeing of every member of our team on site.

  • 3.3: Maintaining the highest standards of accreditation and certification, we will ensure that every report, analysis, and recommendation reflects our commitment to integrity and operational excellence.

How does a specialist firm of your size maintain an innovative edge against much larger competitors?

“By being smarter and faster. Our size is our greatest competitive advantage. While larger firms often move slowly under layers of bureaucracy, we act with speed and precision. Innovation for us means finding the best tools, mastering them quickly, and applying them to solve our clients’ unique challenges. Clients don’t come to us for scale—they come for expertise, insight, and results delivered with agility.”

Your vision mentions ‘digital twins.’ How does this deliver real-world value for typical projects?

“Imagine a complex brownfield site slated for residential development. Using integrated digital models, we go beyond static reports—combining geological data, contamination mapping, hydrology, and flood risks into a live, dynamic model. For our client, this means seeing the most cost-effective remediation strategies or optimal foundation designs upfront. It provides certainty, reduces unforeseen costs, and avoids delays. De-risking at the earliest stages of planning is one of the most valuable services we offer.”

How do you instil core values like integrity and quality within such a close-knit team?

“In a firm of 42 specialists, values aren’t just slogans; they’re lived every day in the work we deliver. Leadership is hands-on—we engage directly with projects, mentor our team, and ensure every decision prioritises long-term client success. In Civil Connect PLC, integrity isn’t a policy, it’s a practice. Every team member knows that their work must meet the highest standards, and their focus strengthens our culture as we continue to grow.”

Our course is set.

At Civil Connect PLC, we are building a legacy of precision, agility, and trust. With an exceptional team behind us, a clear strategy ahead, and an unwavering commitment to integrity, we will continue to empower our partners, de-risk development, and shape the sustainable projects that define our future.
