Civil Connect PLC Restores Civil Connect Subsurface Name for Its Utility and Subsurface Engineering Division

Trenchix Drainage returns to its original identity as Civil Connect Subsurface, with Civil Connect PLC confirming ownership of the Trenchix and Trenchix Drainage trademarks
Elstree, Borehamwood, 20 October 2026. Civil Connect PLC today announces that its utility and subsurface engineering division has gone back to its original name, Civil Connect Subsurface, with immediate effect. The division traded for a short time earlier this year as Trenchix Drainage. The board of directors, shareholders and chairman of Civil Connect PLC have now formally agreed to restore its original name.
Why the Name Is Changing Back
The move to the Trenchix Drainage name followed advice from an external marketing agency. After reviewing how the change worked in practice, Civil Connect PLC decided that the advice was wrong for the business. The Trenchix Drainage name did not reflect the division’s place within the Civil Connect group, or its focus on engineering and utility solutions.
The Civil Connect Subsurface name links the division directly to its parent company, Civil Connect PLC. That makes it clear to clients, partners and the wider industry who they are working with, and it brings the division back into line with the group’s other services. Civil Connect Subsurface branding has continued to appear across the division’s published work, news, updates, brand collateral and imagery throughout.
What This Means for Clients and Partners
The change affects the name only. The division’s team, services, contact details and ongoing projects stay exactly as they are, and existing contracts and working arrangements continue as normal.
Over the coming weeks, every company profile, directory listing, social media channel and online presence that still shows the Trenchix Drainage name will be changed to Civil Connect Subsurface. This includes the division’s LinkedIn Company Page, which is currently listed as Trenchix Drainage (linkedin.com/company/28559803).
Trademarks and Protection of the Trenchix Name
Civil Connect PLC is the registered trademark owner of Trenchix and Trenchix Drainage, as well as Civil Connect PLC and Civil Connect Subsurface Solutions. The division no longer trades as Trenchix Drainage, but both Trenchix names remain the property of Civil Connect PLC. No other party may use them, and Civil Connect PLC will act to protect its rights in all of these marks.
